Privacy policy

This is an English translation of the Danish text. If the two differ, the Danish text applies.

This policy describes which personal data CVRdatabase processes, why we are allowed to do so, how long we keep it, and which rights you have. The data controller is the publisher, who is stated on the page About CVRdatabase.

1. Personal data from CVR

CVRdatabase shows information about people who are registered in the Danish Central Business Register with a role in a company: name, role (for example director, board member, founder or beneficial owner), dates of appointment and resignation, ownership share in intervals and the companies the person is associated with. We do not show private addresses, CPR numbers, dates of birth or contact details of people. The information is fetched from the Danish Business Authority and updated by synchronisation; we collect no information about people from other sources.

2. Legal basis

The information is public under the CVR Act, which provides that information about management, founders and beneficial owners is publicly available and may be passed on and used by others. Our processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (legitimate interest). The legitimate interest is to make public business information easy to survey for the business community, the press and the public, including showing who is behind a company and making it possible to assess a business partner. We have weighed this interest against the interests of the data subjects and limited the display to the information that is already public in CVR.

3. Your rights

You have the right of access to the information we process about you, the right to rectification of inaccurate information, the right to restriction of processing and the right to object to the processing (Articles 15–18 and 21). Since the information is fetched from CVR, factual errors must be corrected at the Danish Business Authority; we do not correct them ourselves, but take over the correction at the next synchronisation. You can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, datatilsynet.dk.

4. Objection and removal

You can at any time object to your information being shown on CVRdatabase, via the contact page. We process the objection and reply no later than one month after receiving it. When we uphold an objection, your person page is removed and your name is hidden on the company pages, so that it is no longer shown or indexed by search engines. We cannot remove the information from CVR itself, and the information will still be found in the official register. If an objection is not upheld, you will get a reasoning and information about how to complain.

5. Enquiries via the contact form

When you write to us, we process your name, your e-mail address and the content of your message in order to reply. The basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)). The information is deleted no later than 12 months after the case is closed, unless we are obliged to keep it longer.

5a. Account

If you create an account, we process your e-mail address, the companies and people you follow, your use of searches and, when paid plans open, information about your subscription. The basis is performance of the agreement on the account (Article 6(1)(b)). There is no password; you log in with a link that is sent to your e-mail and works only once. We use the e-mail address only for login and for the messages you have asked for yourself. You can delete your account on the page "My account" (in Danish), and then the account, your follows and your sessions are deleted immediately. Login links and technical traces of use are deleted no later than after a few days.

6. Visit data, cookies and advertisements

When you visit the site, our web server logs the IP address, the time, the page that was fetched and the browser type for up to 30 days for reasons of operation and security. The site currently shows neither advertisements nor web analytics and sets no cookies for statistics or advertising; if they are introduced, it will be only with your consent. Which cookies are set is described on the page Cookies.

7. Recipients and transfers

The information is shown publicly on CVRdatabase and indexed by search engines on the same terms as in CVR. We do not pass information on to third parties other than the providers that run our servers, and advertising and consent providers when you have given consent. Processors outside the EU/EEA are used only on the basis of the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

8. Changes

Material changes to this policy are published on this page with the date of the change. Last updated: 26 October 2026.
