Selskabets virksomhed kan efter bestyrelsens skøn drives helt eller delvist gennem et eller flere datterselskaber i form af aktieselskaber eller anpartsselskaber. Ved datterselskab forstås et selskab, over hvilket Selskabet har bestemmende indflydelse, jf. selskabslovens § 7.
